Is it possible to portray scent through imagery? Oui, apparently it is. Photographer Traianos Pakioufakis created a peachy dream for Australian fragrance brand Mihan Aromatics, and we could just about smell the sweetness through the screen.
It was important for us to work with the Virgin Suicides vibe of this shoot: we knew that the production team had worked hard to achieve that sexy, late-afternoon mood. But that can’t come at the sacrifice of product legibility. Working with their creative teams, we embraced the hazy finish while really emphasising text clarity on the perfume bottles. This meant focusing on sharpening the fine black text on the bottle, erasing reflections and grading the lighting overall.
When it came to the models, we wanted them to play a role without overshadowing the product, so we refined and balanced the skin tone, hands & nails while keeping everything neutral.
These images were used for Mihan’s branding strategy, and are currently being used across all platforms.
